About Amy Hussey Yoga

ABOUT ME

HI,

I’m Amy, a yoga teacher, member of Yoga Teachers Together and registered nurse working in the NHS as a pain management specialist nurse.

I began my own yoga journey in 2019 when I was going through a challenging time in my life. A friend introduced me to my first yoga teacher (and now wonderful friend) and I have never looked back. It soon became very clear to me that yoga is so much more than I expected. It is a way of life and offers us all a toolbox from which to draw as we navigate this winding path of life.

I went on to undertake my first 200hr yoga teacher training with Laura Green Yoga in Hampshire in 2022 with an intention simply to deepen my knowledge and continue to build my own practice. As the course came to a close I felt that I needed to share the practices of yoga with others, especially those who see for various reasons believe that yoga is not for them. I long to dispel this myth and encourage you all to begin your yoga journey with me.

The benefits of yoga are far reaching. Improving strength, balance and posture in the body. Reducing stress and anxiety. Improving sleep and offering a deeper sense of rest and relaxation. Yoga calms a busy mind and soothes a tired body. It can calm you and lift your spirit in equal measure.

Yoga and the teachers I have had the joy of practicing with have taught me so much already and I continue to learn every day. I would love to share this journey with you.

BEGINNER FRIENDLY YOGA CLASSES

Thursdays 6:30pm

GWP District Community Centre, Gentian Mews, Didcot OX11 6GR

This is a relaxed paced class suitable for those new to yoga as well as those with some experience.

The class includes movement, breathwork and meditation, and ends with a savasana rest period to absorb the practice.

We are a small and very friendly group. Please do get in touch if you have any questions.

CHAIR YOGA

Thursdays 10:15am

GWP District Community Centre, Gentian Mews, Didcot OX11 6GR

Chair yoga is the perfect practice for anyone who, for any reason, finds it challenging to get up and down to the ground. It can also be a way to begin practicing yoga if you find mat-based classes a little daunting.

The class includes seated and standing movement with the support of the chair (standing optional), breathwork, meditation and ending with a period of rest, savasana, to allow the body to absorb the practice.

The class is an hour which includes a few minutes either end to have a good chat or ask any questions.
